Pastry Project Coming Soon!

Some of you might have already noticed but I recently re-organized my blog menu to include two different categories: Family Recipes and Pastry Project! I started I’ll Leave the Kitchen Light on to grow closer to my family history and to grow as a home cook. For those that don’t know I have always loved cooking/baking. I used it as a stress reliever for a long time. My curiosity and passion for my tiny hobby was ignited through the Great British Baking Show. I loved the bright colors, challenges of trying something you never had before, and the reward of making delicious edible art.

So for Christmas of 2020 my mom (my greatest fan and supporter) got me Le Cordon Bleu’s Pastry School Cookbook!!!! And guys . . . this thing is MAGICAL. Step by step recipes, pictures to help master skills, break down of pastry basics — let’s be real it’s the pastry bible.

I mean seriously look at this thing!!!

So guess what?? Once again the goal of this whole ordeal is for me to sharpen my skills — what better way to do that then to cook through this masterpiece of a learning tool? And since you’re kind enough to follow me you get to see the journey and learn from my mistakes!
